The Internet Loves Digestion Walks; Here’s Why.
Written by Kai Voorhees
It all started when I came across a short-form video of a girl walking with the caption, “when I find out about digestion walks”. It was a simple video, but it caused me to research this unknown concept.
A digestion walk (also known as a fart walk) is a short walk taken after eating a meal. Research suggests that taking a five-minute walk after eating can significantly reduce the risk of diabetes and can promote weight loss. It is also said that these walks can help you live longer because of these things. This practice isn’t new. Researchers found that people as early as the Renaissance have been taking walks after meals.
First, I would like to preface this article by saying that I am not a doctor. This is why I encourage you to check out some of my sources (linked below) if you want more information about what a digestion walk is or how it works. I am not writing this article to tell you to start doing digestion walks. I am here to analyze why the internet seems to love these walks.
There are a few main reasons why I think people love digestion walks so much:
They are quick and easy.
Even a five-minute walk can have a tremendous impact on someone's health. This makes it super easy to fit into a busy schedule. Doctors say that digestion walks still have the same effects as long as you fit the walk in within an hour of eating.
They help improve your physical health
After what I have just shared, it should be no surprise that digestion walks have an impact on your physical health. They help lower blood sugar after a good meal. They raise energy levels and help digest food more quickly.
They help improve your mental health
Along with the obvious physical health benefits, digestion walks also help with your mental state! Digestion and other types of walks have about the same mental benefits.
In conclusion, I think people online love digestion walks because they are quick ways to level up their physical and mental health. Users all over social media have captioned their posts with “#fartwalk”. Will you be joining?
