Fashion ESSENTIALS For Every Season
Written by Kai Voorhees
Sometimes it is very hard for me to decide what to wear. I find myself stepping outside in sweatpants in spring. Once the hot air hits me, I am forced to quickly run inside to change into something more appropriate. This is probably the reason I am almost always late to events. In this article I will go over a few of my go-to outfits for each season.
During winter it's all about lots of layers. Depending on where you live, the temperature can greatly differ. Since I live up north, I like to rely on at least three layers before stepping out of the house. That way, if I step inside somewhere and find myself hot, I can take off a layer or two. This is probably my favorite way to style myself during the winter. Since this article is mostly very diverse and works for any style, I would like to add that you can layer almost anything. My favorite thing to layer is a turtle neck with a hoodie. It makes for a good outfit and it keeps me warm.
Spring and fall are probably the two most difficult seasons to dress for. Due to them being (generally) the same weather wise, I would probably wear the same things for each season. These seasons are primary hoodie and sweater seasons. A good hoodie and leggings will get you through both these seasons. Another thing I style often during these times are leather or jean jackets. I think these things are a must when it comes to dressing for spring and fall.
Summer is pretty self explanatory. This obviously excludes people living super close to the poles. A good pair of shorts are definitely vital for surviving summer. In my opinion, everyone needs at least one pair of sweatpant shorts and a pair of active shorts. The active shorts are good for everyday use. I wear sweatpant shorts if I am outside before ten o’clock and after six o’clock. These are the times where it is normally getting colder. They are great for providing comfort and keeping you a bit warm in the nighttime breeze.
Overall, depending on where you live, it will differ on how you style for the seasons. However, in most places, this guide will be able to assist you. For winter style layers. For spring and fall, style special statement jackets. During summer, wear shorts.

Coachella is DEVOLVING!
Written by Kai Voorhees
Coachella is devolving and I am not afraid to say it. We can see this because the music performances have gotten worse, the outfits are a complete mess, and it is no longer “for the masses”. What once was considered a way for normal people to get tickets and a rebuttal against Ticket Master, is now a rich influencer-only shindig.
There are multiple viral clips going around on socials showing Justin Bieber's Coachella performance. In the clips that I have seen, Justin is sitting up on stage with his Macbook projecting a music video and singing along to it. This is egregious considering he was reportedly paid five million dollars for each weekend he performed. Many people were disappointed because they paid so much money to go to “Beiber-cella.” Many suggest that some artists are doing the bare minimum because they know people will pay to attend regardless.
In my article “Coachella Gave Us NOTHING!” I went over how I think celebrities are trying less when it comes to outfits at Coachella. I went over how it seems that even though Coachella used to be a festival where people could be creative and create art throughout their outfits. It used to be normalized there. However, recently the festival has been filled with influencers dressed in neutral color palettes. They all seem to blend together. This is another example of how Coachella is getting worse every year.
Coachella used to be “for the masses”. Cheap tickets to go to a fun festival and see some performances. The reason the festival even exists is because it was made as a rebuttal against Ticket Master. Since tickets for things were so expensive on Ticket Master, the founder decided to make a festival with very cheap tickets. However, general admission tickets have recently risen above six hundred dollars, and it is no longer accessible for a normal person. This has shifted Coachella from a place normal people could go to have fun for a weekend to a complete influencer craze.
In conclusion, it is clear that Coachella has changed significantly over the years. However, it hasn’t changed for the better. Between the bad performances, horrid outfits, and skyrocketing ticket prices, it is clear Coachella is devolving.

MOTORHEADS Shouldn’t Have Been CANCELLED!
Written by Kai Voorhees
When I saw Motorheads in the top ten on Prime Video, I wanted to look into it. When I heard it was a mix of teen drama and cars, I was hooked instantly. I needed to watch it.
Motorheads is a show based on two twins Caitlyn and Zac Torress. They move from Brooklyn to their mom’s home town of Ironwood, Pennsylvania. Nobody knows that their dad is Christian Maddox when they arrive. Christian Maddox is a racing legend who was involved with a heist many years ago. This led to him going missing. However, kids soon find out about their relation to Christian and have varying reactions. The show goes into many different plots. There are love triangles, deep friendships, lots of races and rivalry.
In my article, “We Were Liars–The Show That Broke Me” I mentioned that I wasn’t very easy to impress when it came to TV shows. I have a very short attention span and I tend to have a hard time sitting still. Not only did this show have me seated, but I also rewatched it.
It isn’t just me that liked the show. It was on Prime Video’s top ten list for a long time. This is due to the fans. A user on Reddit said, “I loved this first season and I really want to know what happens next. I want Caitlyn and Zac to find their dad so I think there should be another season.”
I couldn’t agree more. This is why I was beyond surprised when I found out that Prime Video decided to cancel the show. However, there is still reason to be excited. The writer, Johnny Norris, confirmed the second season has been written and they are looking for a new streaming service to carry the show.
We can all hope another streaming service will pick up the show. When I was looking for ways to help, I came across a Reddit user who found a website where people could make positions. There has been one made for the second season of Motoheads. If you would like to sign the petition, it is completely free and all you need to do is sign in with your Google account. I am not the creator of this website, or of the petition. However, I did sign it. I can only hope that this petition will open more doors for the creator of the show to be able to take this show to the next season.

Coachella Gave Us NOTHING!!!
Written by Kai Voorhees
I was very up to date throughout all of Coachella. I was looking forward to all the amazing outfits that I would see…or thought I would see. In past years, I loved outfits I had seen. However, this year there was no excitement in the fashion portion of Coachella.
I am warning that in this article, I will pick apart lots of celebrities’ outfits from throughout Coachella this year. This isn’t meant to be hate towards the celebrities or their stylists. I am simply just sharing my thoughts. I hope you enjoy reading this article as much as I enjoyed writing it.
I noticed a pattern in this year's outfits at Coachella. There was white EVERYWHERE. Everyone was wearing white. Additionally, I saw lots of denim. Blue denim jeans made a lot of celebrities, such as Kylie Jenner, look like they were ready for a day of work at a computer lab. Some celebrities like Kendall Jenner wore white denim in their outfits. Not only was the denim not cute, they also must have been sweating. It was clear when you looked around at Coachella that a lot of people were in little to no color.
While I am on the topic of whose outfits I hated, let’s talk about Adison Rae’s performance outfit. It was probably the most atrocious thing I’ve ever seen. I don’t even know how I could possibly describe this outfit. It’s pink, it’s red, it’s fluffy but also nothing at all? Also Olivia Rodrigo wore a simple pair of blue denim jeans and a pink top. I didn’t like the top. It wasn’t anything super special to me.
One creative outfit I saw was Teyana Taylor’s outfit from the Revolve Festival. It was probably the most creative I had seen in all of Coachella. The color is silver which is a bit of a change from the usual white outfits. However, I do think she looks like an alien in that outfit.
Teyana Taylor’s “alien” outfit
Paris Hilton's outfit for her Oasis event was good, but it does strike me as more of a “going-to-a-sweet-sixteen” than a “I-was-paid-to-be-here-so-I-am-going-all-out-on-my-outfit” vibe.
However, I loved her cupid inspired look that she wore one day to Coachella. It was read and pink with this extravagant red, fluffy feather jacket. I especially liked the little heart details on her sleeves. This was by far my favorite outfit that I have seen anyone wear to this year's Coachella events. It really shows what I think Coachella should be like. Excitement, love, and iconic fashion moments.

In conclusion, Coachella’s fashion moments are slowing slipping away from us. It is clear that we need our celebrities to carry on with non-basic outfits. This is shown by the many basic outfits we have seen during this year’s Coachella. It is just further proof that Coachella is devolving.

Why EVERYONE Online LOVES Sol De Jeneiro
Written by Kai Voorhees
If you have been anywhere on the internet in the last few years, you may recognize the name Sol de Jeneiro. Founded in 2015, the brand has gained a lot of popularity on TikTok in the past few years. This raises an interesting question: why is the internet obsessed with Sol de Janeiro?
Personally, I am a big fan of the brand. Just before it blew up, my mom bought me a bunch of their scents to try. If you are familiar with their brand, to give you a timeline, this was before their 39 scent was discontinued the first time.
One reason Sol de Janeiro rose to popularity so fast could have been because of their amazing marketing team. I am not a marketing specialist, but I do have some knowledge on the topic. Some things they do right is that they really know their target audience. Most of their audience is teenagers or young adults. They constantly do a good job with marketing towards these people through their ad campaigns, PR, and appearances at events.
The creator @prettylittlethings on TikTok posted a video with PR from Sol de Janeiro.
They appeared at Coachella in 2025 as the exclusive sponsor of the body care and fragrance category. After a very successful year, they were not present at Coachella in 2026.
It is good marketing tactics like these that draw customers in such as my mother.
When I asked my mom her opinion on Sol de Jeniero, she definitely delivered. She said that she had gotten a sample of the hair repair treatment from a magazine. After she tried it, she said she “fell in love with it”. She loved the smell of it and needed to know which perfume smelled like it. She then proceeded to buy almost every fragrance mist they had made. She found out the smell was their, now viral, 62 perfume. This became her signature scent which she got many compliments on. Now she owns multiple 62 products including their chapstick (which she brings everywhere).
Now that I had my mothers opinion, I figured I should get some other peoples opinions on the brand. Specifically, I wanted to hear from someone who was primarily in the demographic that Sol de Jeniero reaches for on social media.
When I asked my friend Ellie what her favorite product was, she told me it was their 62 perfume which she has repurchased a few times. She also gave an honorable mention to the 59 lotion as another one of her favorite products. When I asked her if she would recommend Sol de Janeiro to a friend, she responded, “Yes absolutely. 1 million percent. I'm obsessed. I love this brand.”
This confirmed my theory that not only is the internet obsessed with this brand, but real people are too.
Sol de Jeniero recently expanded where they are available. They made a deal with Urban Outfitters. Now, they have added multiple of their products to their website and stores. The brand is doing a great job making sure that they reach everyone they can get to join in on the love for the brand.
In conclusion, their amazing team are the reasons why this brand is as successful as it is.

I Read The Selection—Is BookTok Right?
Written by Kai Voorhees
When I heard of this book series, I was immediately interested. I had seen the book on BookTok a few months ago. One user claimed it was “an amazing, swoon worthy read”. I took this as a sign to look into it more. After discovering it was a dystopian book I immediately knew I wanted to try and read it.
The Selection series follows a girl named America Singer. She lives in Illéa,United States in a time after World War 3. The United States went back to a monarchy and the town is now very dystopian. There are even ranks of rich to poor people which determine your jobs. When the Prince of Illéa turns of age, the royal family has what they call, “The Selection”. In the selection, a bunch of girls compete to marry. Here's how America explains it: “This was the way they did it with sons. Princesses born into the royal family were sold off into marriage in an attempt to solidify our young relations with other countries. I understood why it was done—we needed allies. But I didn’t like it. I hadn’t had to see such a thing, and I hoped I never would. The royal family hadn’t produced a princess in three generations. Princes, however, married women of the people to keep up the morale of our sometimes volatile nation. I think the Selection was meant to draw us together and remind everyone that Illéa itself was born out of next to nothing.” (Cass 8) One day, she is sent a letter where they ask her to be a part of the selection.
This is your warning that there will be spoilers for the first book in this article. So if you haven’t read it, go read it and then come back to this article.
I went into reading the first book thinking it was fully a dystopian with a few romance sideplots. However, I quickly discovered that the dystopian plot (which is half of the book) is very poorly written. The other half (the romance plots) are also kind of poorly written. Despite this, I wanted to keep reading to see if my opinions changed.
When America gets to the palace, I wasn’t expecting America and Maxon’s first time meeting. She was having a panic attack inside and just needed air. When she ran down to the doors, the guards wouldn’t let her out. She was sobbing uncontrollably and begging that they let her out. Then prince Maxon comes and tells the guards to let her into the garden. This is the first time they met. While reading this scene, I cringed quite a bit.
The next few times that they meet also include very interesting things. Such as, America giving Maxon a knee to the groin, America yelling at Maxon, and so on. This confused me. This was the prince and you just kneed him in the groin…and he still likes you? I didn’t know how that was even possible.
If you haven’t noticed already, I very clearly do not like America.
Who else do I not like? Aspen.
The stunt he pulled breaking up with America in the treehouse right before she went to the selection was very confusing to me. If I am being honest, I didn’t understand his reasoning. If you did, feel free to let me know why he did it through the “contact” button on the top of this website.
Personally, I think Maxon is a great guy (though too good for America) and Aspen is an annoying guy (but so is America so they are perfect for each other).
It was one I couldn’t put down. At most parts, it did completely have me hooked. So was BookTok right when they said it was a great book? Despite my obvious critiques for this book, it was a good book. I think that if you just want something that’s a quick read and you don’t think much about the little details like I did, then this would be a good book for you to read. What do you think?

We Were Liars- The Show That Broke Me
Written by Kai Voorhees
We Were Liars is a show on Prime Video based on the book by Emily Lockhart. Here’s your warning that there will be spoilers in this article.
The whole plot is that the main character, Cadence Sinclair, gets a traumatic brain injury and can’t remember how. She is a part of the Sinclair family, a very wealthy, drama filled family. The show is a mix of a lot of teen and family drama, and psychological thriller.
I was so hooked on this show and surprisingly, I binged the whole thing in one night. This is very uncommon for me given my short attention span and inability to sit still.
I had never read the book so I’m not sure how accurate the show was to the movie. However, the fact that I hadn’t read the book meant I didn’t know what I was getting myself into.
I was expecting a sweet, tropical, innocent, love story. Oh how I was wrong. I surely was not expecting to be left in tears at the end of the last episode.
Along with Cadence Sinclair, there are three other main characters in the show.
The “liars” is a nickname the parents gave the kids when they were young.
The last episode, (“My Friends Are Lying in the Sun”) revealed that the “liars” had been drunk when they came up with a plan. In order to stop the “Sinclair legacy” that they had so long hated, they decided to commit arson. The episode shows that everyone but Cadence dies, and this is why the other kids hadn’t called her or visited when she was in the hospital.
The ending had me a bit confused because it made you think that Cadence was hallucinating the “liars” the entire time since she came to the island. However, the last scene shows Carrie seeing Johnny in the kitchen.
This makes it unclear if it was a hallucination or if they are ghosts on the island. Recently, it has been announced that there will be another season of the show. Hopefully, the writers will include some sort of explanation for this.
The second season is supposed to be released in 2027. Will you be tuning in?

Tortoise Shell Is BACK!
Written by Kai Voorhees
To me, a tortoise shell accessory is something you can wear with anything. Its neutral brown and black tones tend to match with anything. This could be a reason it keeps trending in the fashion community.
Recently, I have seen a rise in people wearing tortoise shell accessories. My Easter basket was filled with tortoise shell accessories. Three of them including these:
One of the tortoise shell things I noticed is trending again is the 90s inspired zig zag headbands. I had seen a bunch of girls wearing them near where I live so I wanted to get some for myself. I noticed that these headbands looked super good on girls with curly hair. Since I have curly hair that is kind of straight at the top, I figured it might help give some volume to the top of my hair. To me, the fact that this was popular in the 90s and is now coming back is a big indication of fashion trends and how history always repeats itself. Once I got this, I tried it and immediately fell in love with it. I have been wearing this accessory A LOT (in fact, I am wearing it as I’m writing this).
Another reason that tortoise shell is coming back is because of the show The Love Story. Bassette-Kennedy is known for her signature tortoise shell headband that has everyone obsessed.
Earlier this year, Ariana Grande wore a tortoise shell headband similar to Bassette-Kennedy’s in a post on Instagram.
With the hype of The Love Story, and celebrities wearing tortoise shell print, this trend has definitely come back. A very nostalgic yet fashionable accessory that pairs with anything. How will you wear tortoise shell this year?

Why Do Lighthouse Keepers Go Crazy?
Written by Kai Voorhees
You may have heard the mysteries about lighthouse keepers and why so many of them “go mad”. When I was bored one day, I decided that I needed to research why this happens. What I found is that there are many dangers when it comes to working in a lighthouse. Some of these include isolation from society, extreme weather conditions, and many physical demands.
An example of isolation from society would be “The Smalls Lighthouse Tragedy". In 1801, there was a lighthouse off the coast of Wales that was called The Smalls Lighthouse. There were two keepers who were hired to work there. Their names were Thomas Howell and Thomas Griffith. Within a few months of working there Thomas Griffith died. This left Thomas Howell alone. The story goes on from here, but due to it being awfully bloodcurdling I will not describe the next events. It is said that Thomas Howell went insane and died a few months after his partner. This is one of the many reasons lighthouse keepers go crazy.
Another danger of being a lighthouse keeper is bad weather. With most lighthouses being in remote areas near water, there are lots of weather conditions that could be dangerous. One example of this was the Flannan Isle Lighthouse in 1900. It was at this lighthouse that three keepers disappeared. They were never found. It was thought that they were caught by a huge wave or storm at the coast that washed them off the island. Another example is the Eddystone Lighthouse. It was repeatedly destroyed and rebuilt. In 1703, during the Great Storm, the Eddystone Lighthouse was obliterated by storms, resulting in the deaths of its keeper, Henry Winstanley. Bad weather is another reason why being a lighthouse keeper is a dangerous job.
Physical demands can also cause injury or danger in lighthouses. Keepers must climb steep, narrow staircases, sometimes carrying heavy equipment, to reach the top. Considering that most lighthouses have more than 100 steps, if a keeper falls, it would be a very serious injury. Physical demands also are dangerous things lighthouse keepers have to deal with.
In conclusion, it is clear that lighthouse keeping is a very underrated and underestimated job.

How I Met Cara Buono
Written by Kai Voorhees
When I awoke my dad was yelling upstairs.
“Get up and get dressed! FAST!”
What was going on? My head was filled with scary thoughts. Was the house on fire? I ran downstairs in my PJs.
But when I walked down the stairs, I was greeted by my dad smiling ear to ear.
I asked him what was going on and he told me that my Aunt had given him two tickets to Monster-Mania Con. 66. I had never been but it seemed like it’d be fun.
“Now go get ready! We should get there early so we can get in lines and meet people fast.”
I ran up to get ready. By the time we were ready, we rushed out the door (along with my little brother who could get in for free), and got in the car.
“Do you guys want to stop at Chick-Fil-A for some breakfast?” My dad asked us.
Was that even a question?
So with my Oreo milkshake and chicken biscuit I enjoyed the long ride.
When we got there, the streets were packed. No parking spots in the parking lots, or on the streets surrounding the place. We parked maybe a half a mile away and started walking to Monster-Mania Con. While walking, we were behind a group of people that were smoking so much they were blowing it into each other's faces. With that, the wind was catching perfectly that the smoke was blowing behind them to hit me and my little brother in the face.
On the walk, we met a guy who seemed to have been to a Monster Mania Con. before. He explained to us that since they had huge stars from Stranger Things this year, the tickets were sold out in minutes. As we approached the entrance, we saw lines outside wrapping around the building.
“That’s probably the line for Gaten (he pronounced it like Gah-ten)” The guy told us as he pointed at the longest line that wrapped around the building. I shivered at the thought of waiting in this -1° weather (30 °F) for that long.
“Okay, we will come back to this later,” my dad said.
We walked inside and I was immediately extremely impressed. This hotel was filled with endless amounts of horror fans. People were dressed in such elaborate costumes that you couldn’t tell if they were actors or not.
We walked to the first hall towards the back. There were a bunch of stands filled with everything from horror posters to pre-cut pumpkins. I saw a stand with flannels with vintage shirts sewn in a square on the back of it.
There was a sales rack where you could get three flannels for the price of two so me and my dad decided to look through them. I got a red flannel with Megan (from the movie Megan) in front of red text that said “RUN” on it. My dad got a black jean jacket with a picture of The Crow on the back and a red flannel with a picture of a newspaper with Micheal Myers.
The whole time we were shopping, I was secretly itching to meet some celebrities. After passing by a lot of amazing stands, we headed over to the main room of celebrities. Before entering, the lady outside the door stopped us.
“You can’t get in any lines in this room,” she informed us, “you must go to the lines outside to get a picture with any of them”.
My dad nodded, “We just want to have a look”.
She nodded and let us in.
Once we were in, we peaked around at all the celebrities in the room. We saw Gaten Matarazzo.
We got a picture from a distance since the line was so long.
Then we took a peak at the other rooms of celebrities. The most famous ones include Linda Hamilton, Michael Biehn, Gaten Matarazzo, Elisabeth Shue, and Edward Furlong.
We went in a big tent that was set up on the other side of the building. In it we saw many celebrities including Cara Buono.
I proceeded to get in line for an autograph and picture with Cara Buono. There was a poster with her name and a few hits she has been in. I knew her as Karen from Stranger Things but there were lots of Mad Men fans there too.
This is a picture I sent to my friends on the app Locket while I was in line.
The girl in front of me was dressed up as Cara’s role in Stranger Things (Karen Wheeler). When we were in the front of the line, she went up to the table to meet Cara. I remember distinctly that Cara pulled out her phone and took a picture of the girl in the costume. I picked out a picture of Cara holding an old-school camera. This was going to be where I got Cara’s autograph.
When me and my little brother approached the booth, Cara greeted us with a smile. I remember exactly how the encounter went.
My brother asked if he could ask her a question. When she nodded he asked what her favorite thing about working on Stranger Things was, she responded with a smile.
“Probably the kids,” was her answer.
She signed the picture and asked us what our favorite characters from the show were. We both responded with two characters. A common theme was in our answers. One of the two was Karen Wheeler.
We then took a picture with her. We thanked her and wished her a good day.
This is the picture me and my brother took with Cara.
Overall, this was a great experience. I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to meet Cara Buono and I will forever be grateful.

Why The Internet LOVES Rare Beauty
Written by Kai Voorhees
In the past month, how many videos have you seen mentioning the brand Rare Beauty? If your FYP is anything like mine, your answer would be something like “too many to count”. I was never a Selena Gomez fan growing up. When I heard she was starting a makeup brand, I thought it would be just like all the other celebrity makeup brands. Crappy products you spend half a paycheck on only for the product to work worse than my WI-FI as I’m writing this. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case at all for Rare Beauty. From their accessible perfumes, to their constant donations to mental health organizations, it seems Selena truly knows what she is doing.
One thing she definitely has right is the Rare Impact Fund. Selena established the Rare Impact Fund in 2020. The goal of the fund is to donate $100 million to mental health organizations before 2030. So far, the fund has raised over $30 million.
Selena has been very open about her mental health struggles over the years. In her documentary My Mind and Me, she put this on display helping millions around the world. One Reddit user wrote, “I just watched Selena Gomez's documentary ‘My Mind and Me,’ and it really hit home for me. Seeing her journey through psychosis made me feel like I wasn't alone in my struggles. It's so powerful to see someone so well-known sharing their experiences and being open about mental health.” This further shows how Selena Gomez fans love how supportive she is about mental health.
Another thing Rare Beauty seems to be doing right is their marketing. They send out a variety of their products to influencers who consistently have nothing but good things to say. This is why you see the brand all over TikTok. When Selena released The Soft Pinch Liquid Blush, she sent out PR with all the shades to multiple influencers.
Now, Rare Beauty has just been out in Ulta Beauty stores around the world. When I went to my local Ulta, I was surprised they already had a whole Rare Beauty section.
The Rare Beauty stand at my local Ulta Beauty.
Overall, I can see the appeal of Rare Beauty and Selena Gomez. From Selena’s excellent marketing skill, to her incredible compassion, she’s a very likable woman. This is directly reflected in her brand. The question is, will you try Rare Beauty?

I Learned Guitar In 1 WEEK!
Written by Kai Voorhees
When a few of my friends wanted to make a band I was ecstatic. I had always been interested in being in a band, I just had never known anybody who was too. I offered to play guitar. The only problem? I didn’t know how to play.
Since my general motto in life is “say yes and figure it out later,” you can imagine I took this as another fun side quest I could take. So I started learning the next day.
A week later, I have mastered and can play three songs almost flawlessly on my electric guitar.
Here are four tips that I have found most helpful when learning guitar in a week.
1: Learn how to read tabs
This is a must when it comes to learning guitar. Especially if you want to learn songs fast. A YouTube video to learn a song is good, but if you can read tabs for songs and play it to the beat of the song, you’ll end up getting the same result faster.
There are many tutorials and articles out there about how to read tabs.
2: Do not learn notes
You might be thinking, “But don’t you need to learn notes to play guitar?”
And to that I would say “Not necessarily.”
When learning electric guitar, I thought that I would need notes to play every song. However, this is far from the truth. Most songs (especially in punk rock) can be played using basic tabs.
Most beginner songs are just a repeating pattern of just plucking one or two strings.
3: Find good beginner songs
Here are the first songs I learned:
Freaks by Surf Curse
Surf Curse used the album cover from their album“Buds” for the cover of their hit song “Freaks”
Freaks is very popular on TikTok right now. It sounds complicated but it really isn’t. This is probably one of the easiest songs on guitar I know. I once taught it to my friend (who had never touched a guitar before) in five minutes.
Deceptacon by Le Tigre
This song is also super popular on social media. It is a great vintage-sounding song that anyone can vibe to. This song is super easy to learn. I learned this in about two days.
The Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash
This song I’m still working to master. This song uses the notes G, D, and C. However, I was not able to get good at it in 1 week due to the fact that you have to switch between the notes smoothly. There are easier songs, but this isn’t too difficult.
4: PRACTICE
Like they say, practice does make perfect. I practiced for seven days straight for at least an hour a day. This was not because I was forcing myself to, but because I was having fun doing it. Practice is necessary in order to improve your skills.
In conclusion, practice does make perfect. However, there has never been a recorded time in history where someone picked up any hobby and was perfect at it in a week. We all make mistakes and they are necessary if we want to grow and get better. You do not have to pressure yourself to learn in a week. All good things take time. Just have fun and enjoy the music.

Is Gossip Girl Worth Watching?
Written by Kai Voorhees
Gossip Girl is a LONG show. It is seven seasons, and whether that’s long for you, I do not know. However, the longest show that I have watched before this was the (current) four seasons of Outer Banks. So, is watching Gossip Girl worth the time? Now, don’t fret. This article contains no spoilers beyond things in the first season. Such as my initial thoughts of the characters, and my ending thoughts of the show in very vague details. No crazy spoilers, but if you have watched the show, that’s even better.
I heard many of my friends talking about this show and how I needed to watch it. My one friend was so excited when she was watching it that she even spoiled half the show for me a few times.
But, one thing that I had heard online was that it was a show that people could not stop. People were saying they had been sat binging this show. I normally have a super difficult time sitting and watching shows. When watching I am either taking breaks every 10 minutes or on my walking pad watching the show. So I was curious to see how this show would hook me so much to keep me interested for so long.
I can say that this show had my jaw on the floor for %90 of the time. I was watching two episodes a night before bed while sitting down. I never needed a break. With crazy twists at the end of almost every single episode, I was always left wanting more. I was never left bored.
Never watched Gossip Girl? Wanting to know if it’s worth watching? Here’s what I thought .
The plot of Gossip Girl is essentially a bunch of school kids who live in the Upper East Side of New York. There’s lots of drama with many of the kids being in the spotlight of the media since their parents (and themselves) are pretty famous. The name of the show comes from the online blog (“Gossip Girl”) where the mystery person who owns the blog posts things about people. Two of my favorite Gossip Girl blasts are below:
“Nate thought he and Humphrey were thick as thieves... turns out Humphrey's a thief and Nate's just thick.”
“Ain’t karma a b*tch? We know Blair Waldorf is.”
My first impressions of the show were:
1. Blair > Serena
Serena is the main character of the show. Played by Blake Lively, she really embodies the “pretty rich girl” stereotype. The show paints her as the “IT Girl”. Everywhere she goes, someone is sending in a picture to Gossip Girl. After Blair was introduced, I was stunned. She is gorgeous but no one seemed to notice when she was next to Serena. The show paints the picture that Blair is the “uglier” friend.
Honestly, I don’t even know why Blair was friends with Serena. In my opinion, I think it was a pretty toxic friendship. Blair was a bad person, but at least she doesn’t hide it. Serena on the other hand, is a pretty bad person, but she hides it behind a sweet facade. So, my first opinion is that Blair is better than Serena.
2. Chuck is a horrible person and he really annoys me.
When Chuck said his first sentence “Good. Things were getting a little dull around here.”, I knew he was going to be a problematic character. His name might as well be Charles “Full-of-himself” Bass. I had heard that he had some crazy glow up and became a way better person in the end. Honestly, I really hoped it was real because I did not know how much more I could stand him being on my TV screen.
4. Nate seemed to be the only good person out of the whole friend group.
During the first season, I thought Nate seemed to be a good person. I first discovered this when I found out that he and Blair had been dating for a while. He seemed to be the least problematic character at the start. He often put people in their places when nessasary. Even though he was a nepo baby, it seemed he still worked for everything he had. This seemed like a good character tait.
5. Jenny has really good style.
When watching season one, I noticed that I loved Jenny Humphrey’s style. A Brooklyn girl desperate to fit in with the Upper East Siders, she dressed a lot like them (with her own twist). She starts out the show with very colorful, “baby-doll-like” clothes that really complement her light features. While most of her season 1 style is an attempt to fit in with Blair and the “minions”, she does feature some of her natural color palette through her darker accessories. Since it’s the first season, everyone's style is still developing. Among all the developing styles, Jenny’s stood out to me most. So, in my opinion, Jenny probably has the best style in season one.
6. I feel bad for the Upper East Siders.
With all the drama going on in the Upper East Side, I couldn’t help but feel bad for them. From people committing identity fraud, to getting into a planned car crash, the Upper East Side is not easy. With the parents always working the show feels like a seven season continuation of “Super Rich Kids” by Frank Ocean.
In conclusion, it is all about your personal preference in shows. If you’re not up to committing to watching a seven season show, then Gossip Girl isn’t for you. It also isn’t for you if you aren’t into shows with lots of romance, drama, and crazy twists. Personally, it isn’t a show I regret watching. So, will you give it a watch?
Blue is Making A HUGE COMEBACK
Written by Kai Voorhees
From the runways of New York to everyday streetwear, one color dominated this season: blue. I have seen this in the real world too. I don’t know about you, but I can’t go anywhere without seeing someone wearing at least one blue statement piece.
Since New York Fashion week just recently concluded, let’s take a look at some common themes I noticed.
We saw many models walking Coach wear everything from blue blazers and dresses to blue sneakers. They especially had a lot of denim blue. Pairing jeans with blazers was a common theme throughout the shows.
Models walking for Coach wore lots of denim jeans and blazers.
Sergio Hudson displayed many different blue dresses showing just how classy blue can be.
Cobalt blue seems to be the hottest type of blue right now. Paris Hilton was spotted in Cobalt blue at the beginning of the year. This seemed to only be the beginning of the fashion world's obsession with blue this year.
At the BAFTA Awards there were a lot of celebrities feeling blue. The event, which took place on February 22, 2026, had many celebrities wearing blue. Celebrities including Jessie Buckley, Carey Mulligan, and Erin Doherty, wore blue.
Jessie Buckley wore custom Chanel made by Matthieu Blazy to the BAFTA Awards.
Want to join the trend? Here’s a few simple ways to style blue this year.
For any streetwear style, try the viral “sandwich method”. That means matching your shoes to your top for a perfectly balanced outfit. A blue shirt or hoodie paired with some cool blue shoes is the perfect match. Or opt for a blue coat or sweater over a simple monochrome outfit for a pop of color.
Want to look like you’re walking for Coach? The denim jeans with a black blazer is the perfect way to make a lasting impression in any setting.
From the red carpet at the BAFTA’s, to streetwear in everyday life, blue has earned its spot in seemingly everyone’s closet. So, how will you wear it?

Crumbl Cookie’s NEW CONTROVERSY
It All Begins Here
Written by Kai Voorhees
In case you need a little catching up, Crumbl Cookie is a fast growing chain with stores all over America. It was founded in 2017 by two brothers living in Utah. It originally started as a “side hustle” for them to try to make the best chocolate cookie in the world. It blew up thanks to their amazing marketing tactics which seemed to be everywhere. Next thing you know, everyone is making videos trying it.
Along the way, Crumbl has been caught up in some controversies.
For one, they were found having 14-15 year olds in multiple states at multiple locations operating dangerous machinery. On the U.S. Department of Labor site it states, “violations affecting 46 workers at Crumbl Cookies’ locations in California, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Utah and Washington. Violations ranged from employing some minor-aged employees to work longer and later than the time the law allows to assigning others to operate potentially dangerous ovens and machinery.” However, this article is about Crumbl’s latest controversy. Or what I like to call the Crumbl Cookie Calorie Controversy.
Now, I want you to imagine this. You are on a diet and have been seeing these delicious cookies everywhere. Tiktok, Instagram, YouTube, any platform you can think of are filled with videos of people eating them. So you find a store near you, and go inside. You are immediately engulfed by the scent of warm vanilla, sugary confectionaries, and warm cookies straight out of the oven. You look at the menu and see a huge pink sugar cookie for only 130 calories. It seems almost too good to be true. And it is.
While Crumbl is going out saying their Pink Sugar Cookie is 130 calories, that isn’t the case. People on the internet found that one whole cookie is 520 calories. The internet exploded with hate towards the brand. One user on Reddit wrote “This is why Americans are FAT” under a post about the calories.
On Youtube, a Youtuber known as “paigeeastworld” posted a short form video with the title “Crumbl cookies should be ashamed” talking about this exact thing. In the video she says she heard about Crumbl Cookie and went to go check them out. In the video she says, “and I'm thinking, ‘wow! That’s great! So low in calories! I’m going to eat a bunch of these!’ Which I did.” When she found out the count was only for a fourth of a cookie, she went on to question the viewers, “Now who’s out here eating a quarter of a cookie?” Another YouTube user by the name thenutritionnarc went as far as to make a video called “Guessing the calories of crumbl cookies”. In the video he opens it with a plate full of store bought cookies side by side with a Crumbl cookie saying, “this is how many store bought cookies you can eat for the same calories as one crumbl cookie”.
Now let's take a quick dive to see which Crumbl Cookie has the most calories.
First, we must set the tone by seeing how many calories are in the classic chocolate chip cookie. This is a staple in the Crumbl Cookie menu and is a pretty basic one. On the website it says ¼ this cookie is 190 calories. To eat the full cookie, it is 760.
Now that we know what a normal chocolate chip cookie is, we can proceed to Crumbl’s most calorie cookies.
5: Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie
First, we have the “Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie” cookie. This was released for the week of February 17th, 2025. It is held at the number five spot because it has a calorie count of 1,100 per cookie. This is about ½ of the recommended calorie intake for a day.
4: Brownie Sundae
Crumbl released their Brownie Sundae cookie for the week of September 29th, 2025. It is 1,130 calories per cookie.
3: Double Fudge Brownie
At third place we have the “Double Fudge Brownie”. This cookie was released for the week of August 18, 2025. Although the names are similar, do not confuse this with the “Brownie Sundae” cookie. They are very different from each other. With the differences, comes a change in calories. This one, has earned itself the third spot on the chart. This is because it has 1,180 calories per cookie.
2: Cookies and Cream Brownie
At 2nd place is the “Cookies and Cream Brownie”. It has 1,200 calories.
1: Jimmy Fallon’s “Holiday Seasoning” Candy Cane Brownie
Crumbl partnered with Jimmy Fallon to release this limited edition “‘Holiday Seasoning’ Candy Cane Brownie” just before the holiday season in 2025. This cookie earned itself the number 1 spot on the chart for being a whopping 1,210 calories. This means it is 890 calories less than the daily recommended calorie intake.
Overall, a Crumbl Cookie is okay every once in a while, but over consuming them can be potentially dangerous. Buying the four pack and ranking them like every influencer seems to be doing is very unhealthy (and expensive!).
